Job summary

At Atlassian, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Trusted Data Platform to design and build high-performance, scalable backend storage services on AWS. You will own APIs, data models, and fault-tolerant storage solutions that power mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java for backend development.
• Experience building high-performance, scalable microservices and APIs.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS storage services (S3, DynamoDB, EBS, EFS, FSx, Glacier).
• Knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, and data access policies.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, Jenkins).
• Containerized deployments with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and serverless (Lambda, Fargate).
• Security, reliability, and observability best practices with monitoring and tracing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance, scalable backend storage solutions on AWS.
• Develop distributed storage systems, APIs, and backend services powering mission-critical apps.
• Drive performance tuning, data modeling, caching, and cost optimization of AWS storage services.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews and architectural discussions.
• Champion CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability-driven development.
