Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Sydney engineering teams. You will primarily code in Java, but we value the ability to learn new languages and adapt the stack with Kotlin, Golang, Python, and Ruby as needed.

You will mentor junior engineers and drive complex projects from design to launch, collaborating across teams. We hire with flexibility in mind, allowing office, home, or hybrid work, with strong emphasis on ownership, quality code reviews, and architectural

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience with one or more prominent languages such as Java, Kotlin, Golang, Python, C#, C/C++, or Ruby is required.
• Strong mentoring and collaboration skills with junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Drive large, complex projects autonomously from technical design to launch.
• Determine plans-of-attack on large projects.
• Tackle complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards.
• Lead code reviews and documentation; fix high-risk bugs.
• Be an example for thorough, meaningful code reviews.
• Partner across engineering teams on company-wide initiatives.
• Transfer knowledge to excel as a Java developer.
