Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Software Development Engineers to join Region Services. You will support development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services, including security-focused capabilities.

You will lead design, mentor teams, and contribute to scalable, maintainable software across AWS regions. Responsibilities include designing new systems, delivering repeatable processes, and participating in 24/7 on-call support.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead software efforts, by assisting in designing new systems and collaborating with other teams to refine requirements
• Mentor other Engineers
• Design and build reusable, maintainable, and performant software consistent with Amazon standard technologies
• Develop best in class software systems for automating Amazon's network
• Provide technical direction to the team and identify areas of focus
• Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
• Deal with ambiguity, make data-driven decisions and juggle cross-organization complexity
• Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures and product documentation.
• Participating in 24/7 on-call rotation to troubleshoot high severity issues
