Job summary

EML seeks a Psychologist Advisor/Specialist in Sydney to provide clinical guidance on psychological injury claims, review diagnoses and treatment plans, and support decision-making for better recovery outcomes. The role offers opportunities for multidisciplinary discussions, clinical education, and capability uplift initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have current AHPRA registration, clinical experience, and a strong understanding of disability and injury management within personal injury/

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification and professional background in psychology, mental health or related discipline.
• Current AHPRA registration
• Clinical experience treating psychological and mental health issues.
• Strong understanding of disability, injury management and recovery principles.
• Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience working in the personal injury industry preferred, with experience with the workers compensation insurance, and legislation desirable.
• The ability to engage respectfully and confidently with clinicians, treatment providers and other claims stakeholders, including constructive conversations about treatment direction and recovery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

• Engage with GPs and treatment providers including treating psychologists to optimise diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery outcomes.
• Complete file reviews to provide expert psychological opinion on treatment efficacy and injury recovery.
• Identify the need for additional medical opinion and services, such as Independent Medical Examinations.
• Deliver training, coaching and education to internal and external stakeholders to support best practice psychological injury management.
