Job summary

EML is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to support early management of workplace psychological injuries and advise on medical strategy within a claims team. Based in Sydney with a hybrid work arrangement, the role offers opportunity to impact return-to-work outcomes across a multidisciplinary health team.

The ideal candidate has a psychology degree, 3+ years of registered clinical psychology experience, and current registration, with strong knowledge of disability management and insurance

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of clinical experience as a registered Clinical Psychologist.
  • Current registration in the professional field (even if non-practicing).
  • Strong knowledge of disability and psychological injury management.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and an understanding of the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide early intervention and management of workplace psychological injuries.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with Clinical Psychologists and GPs to support clinical management and RTW outcomes.
  • Perform case reviews and provide expert opinion on medical strategy.
  • Deliver internal training and coaching to case managers on clinical management and communication with health professionals.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a passionate Clinical Psychologist ready to diversify and broaden your range of skills in a dynamic corporate setting? This role is perfect for you! As part of our innovative team based in Sydney CBD, you can expand your existing skillset to a whole new environment! As a Clinical Advisor - Psychologist, you will be involved in overseeing early management of workplace psychological injuries as well as providing your expert opinion on existing management to support the claims teams.

You'll work alongside a team of Doctors, Physiotherapists and other health professionals to ensure timely and effective medical management of workers' claims, facilitating their recovery and return to work in line with regulatory requirements. This will be an permanent role based in our Sydney office, with a hybrid work environment giving you the flexibility to work from home for part of your week. While full time (5 days/week) is preferred, part-time (3-4 days/week) applicants will also be considered.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide early intervention and management of workplace psychological injuries.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions with Clinical Psychologists and GPs to assist them with clinical management while improving RTW (Return-to-Work) outcomes.
  • Conduct case reviews and provide expert opinion on medical strategy
  • Provide internal training and coaching to case managers on clinical management of psychological injuries and communication with health professionals to support optimal medical management and support capability uplift.
ABOUT YOU

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology) Demonstrated 3+ years clinical experience as a registered Clinical Psychologist Current registration in professional field (can be non-practicing) Well established knowledge of disability and psychological injury management. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry preferred, with demonstrated experience with workers compensation insurance highly regarded.
