Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking experienced Substation Electricians for the Central‑West Orana REZ project. You will work on 330kV/500kV substations, installing, terminating and testing equipment as part of Australia’s next‑gen transmission network.

This remote project operates on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster, with bus transport from Sydney. Join a safety‑focused team delivering large‑scale infrastructure and renewable energy assets.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Electrical Licence is required.
• Current Construction White Card.
• Experience in HV substations, switchyards or renewable energy projects is advantageous.
• Current LVR/CPR certification.
• High Risk Work Licence – EWP (over 11 meters).
• Current working at heights (within 2 years).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate high‑voltage and low‑voltage power and control cabling.
• Install and connect primary plant including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs and surge arresters.
• Install secondary systems including protection panels, marshalling kiosks, control wiring and communications equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and single‑line diagrams.
• Complete cable glanding, termination, testing and pre‑commissioning activities per project specs.
• Assist with electrical testing, fault finding and commissioning with engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain safety, quality and environmental compliance while working with project teams.
