Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Maryborough is seeking a Financial Analytics Officer to join the Budgeting & Strategic Accounting team. In this specialist role, you will build and maintain financial models, deliver forecasting insights, and support the preparation of annual budgets to drive the council's long-term financial sustainability.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation, providing high-quality analysis, identifying cost drivers, and contributing to system

Qualifications

• Design, develop and analyse sophisticated financial and forecasting models.
• Interpret Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• High level numeracy and experience with financial systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and analyse complex financial and forecasting models.
• Provide financial analysis and advice on cost drivers, pricing and strategic initiatives.
• Support annual budget preparation, reporting and financial projects.
• Deliver variance analysis, forecasting and financial insights to stakeholders.
• Assist with continuous improvement of budgeting systems and reporting tools.
• Prepare financial reports, journal entries and executive decision-making advice.
