Alchemy Recruitment Consulting – Brisbane QLD is partnering with a local government client to recruit a Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract based in Logan Central. You will sit within the corporate accounting team, preparing budgets and forecasts and providing financial insights to senior leadership.

The role emphasizes budgeting, variance analysis and robust financial modelling with strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

Experience as a financial analyst, management accountant or similar in a medium to large organisation.
Hands-on involvement in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Strong financial modelling and Excel skills.
Ability to explain complex financial information in plain language.
Local government or public sector finance experience highly regarded.
Available to start Monday 26 October.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and management reports for senior leadership and elected members.
Investigate budget variances and provide accurate, timely financial advice.
Support short and long term financial modelling.
Maintain financial reporting systems and processes with a focus on data integrity, internal controls and compliance.
Train internal stakeholders in using financial reports and systems.
