Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a proactive Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will plan, draft and create clear, concise and compelling content for internal and external channels, ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences.

In this role you’ll collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor and broader team to manage our website, newsletters, events and social media, and liaise with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a communications team within not-for-profit/government sector preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels (social, digital, newsletters).
• Translate complex content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate, consistent materials.
• Ensure accessibility and suitability for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content (videos, graphics).
