Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Emergency Relief Assessor in Morley, WA. This full-time, permanent role, based at the Morley site, involves listening to community members, assessing needs and connecting them with practical relief and advocacy.

A hybrid work arrangement is available and pay aligns with the SCHADS Level 3 Award. Key duties include maintaining client records, providing referrals, and collaborating with local mission partners to ensure timely support.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services as a minimum.
• Diploma or above in Community Services highly regarded.
• Experience in the community services sector.
• Experience supporting people experiencing hardship, vulnerability or trauma.
• Confidence engaging with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to remain calm, empathetic and solution focused in challenging or fast paced situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to TSA values and person-centred practice.
• WA Working with Children’s Check.

Responsibilities

• Speak with community members over the phone, listen to their story and understand their needs.
• Provide referrals and advocacy to connect people with practical support.
• Maintain accurate client records and identify risks.
• Collaborate with team and local mission partners to ensure support from outreach.
• Uphold quality, confidential, client-centred service delivery.
• Engage with clients to assess needs and elevate matters when required.
