Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd is hiring a Reliability Engineer for Gruyere Gold Mine in Western Australia. You will work with maintenance and processing teams to develop strategies that maximise equipment availability and reduce downtime.

The role offers a permanent position with a 8 on/6 off FIFO roster, plus a quarterly bonus and private health allowance. You will lead root cause analyses and drive reliability improvements across fixed plant assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in reliability and maintenance of critical gold processing assets (crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps).
• Proficiency with reliability engineering tools including RCM, PMO, and root cause failure analysis.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a proactive, responsible approach.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to provide practical engineering support.
• Develop and maintain fixed plant maintenance and reliability strategies to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
• Lead root cause failure investigations and defect elimination to prevent repeat failures in critical plant assets.
• Analyse short- and long-term plant performance and reliability data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Review inspection and maintenance reports for fixed plant assets and raise work orders in SAP to address reliability risks.
• Lead reliability improvement initiatives for processing plant equipment from identification through to implementation.

The Opportunity:

• You’ll work closely with a diverse team to contribute to operational excellence for our Maintenance & Processing Departments at Gruyere Gold Mine.
• Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Reliability, you will be responsible for providing reliability engineering support to maintenance and operation teams.
• You will assist and contribute to problem identification, making recommendations and developing strategies and tactics that cost-effectively improve plant and equipment reliability and maintainability with the view to extending the life of all assets.
