Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd in Western Australia seeks a Senior Engineer: Mine Planning to deliver short- and medium-term open pit plans and schedules that meet safety, production and cost targets aligned with Gruyere's strategic objectives.

The role is offered on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth, with a permanent contract, 6% site allowance, incentives, monthly private health insurance allowance and a $10K employee referral bonus.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements in mining.
• Experience in open pit mining, preferably gold.
• Proficiency with MS Office and mining software (APS/ATS).
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for mine designs to ensure financial objectives.
• Prepare stope designs, declines, escapeways and level plan layouts with mining schedule alignment.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with budget constraints.
• Provide timely planning guidance for production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

What You’ll Do

• Develop accurate short to medium term mine plans that support operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design completed within the Engineering Team to ensure financial objectives are met under determined cut-off grades
• Prepare stope designs, decline, escapeways and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with operational mining schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints
• Providing timely and accurate planning guidance for the delivery of the mining department production schedules.
• Collaborate across departments to support key projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining
• Strong open pit engineering experience, ideally in gold with
• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software ( APS or ATS mining software experience.)
• Manual Driver’s license
