Job summary

BHP's Carrapateena site in South Australia is seeking a Reliability Electrical Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of fixed plant assets. The role reports to the Senior Engineer – E&I and Control Systems and offers exposure to advanced underground mining technologies within a dynamic team.

You will apply structured problem solving, manage electrical asset risks, collaborate with Maintenance, and drive improvements across safety, cost, and throughput while based on site with an 8

Qualifications

• IEAust-recognised degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in heavy industry, processing, mining or a similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of asset management to improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing reliability, performance and capability of Carrapateena’s fixed plant assets through sound engineering principles.
• Ensure engineering designs and technical solutions are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
• Partner with Maintenance Execution teams to improve asset performance and outcomes.
• Identify, assess and manage electrical asset risks with appropriate controls.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and implement improvement initiatives that enhance safety, cost, throughput and quality.
• Coordinate and manage specialist consultants and external providers where required.
• Support adherence to engineering standards, processes and governance.
• Ensure engineering work is planned, prioritised and executed efficiently.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and evaluate opportunities.
