BLACKROC Recruitment seeks an experienced Release Train Engineer to join a large-scale Federal Government transformation program in Australia. The role coordinates planning, dependencies and multi-stream delivery, operating across policy, regulatory and technology domains.

You will lead PI Planning, manage cross-team delivery, and report to senior stakeholders while ensuring governance and compliance in a highly regulated government environment.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of leading large-scale government transformation programs.
  • Strong experience in SAFe or comparable scaled Agile environments.
  • Proven track record as an RTE, STE or similar senior delivery role.
  • Hands-on experience facilitating PI Planning.
  • Experience across business design and systems implementation.
  • Experience working in highly regulated government environments.
  • Strong executive and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid program and portfolio management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning and other large-scale planning events.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple teams, workstreams and releases.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, issues and delivery challenges.
  • Work with business, policy, regulatory and technology stakeholders.
  • Support alignment between business requirements, operational change and technology delivery.
  • Provide delivery reporting, governance and transparency to senior stakeholders.
  • Support delivery within a SAFe / scaled Agile environment.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with government governance, assurance and compliance requirements.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join a large-scale Federal Government transformation program.

This is a senior delivery role working across multiple workstreams, business areas and technology teams. The program has a strong focus on legislative and regulatory reform, with technology supporting the broader business transformation.

You will work closely with senior program leadership, delivery teams and stakeholders to coordinate planning, manage dependencies and keep multiple streams of work aligned and moving.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and facilitating Program Increment (PI) Planning and other large-scale planning events

  • Ensuring delivery aligns with government governance, assurance and compliance requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • 7+ years' experience leading large-scale government transformation programs
  • Strong experience working in SAFe or comparable scaled Agile environments
  • Proven experience as an RTE, STE or in a closely related senior delivery role
  • Hands-on experience facilitating PI Planning
  • Experience across business design and systems implementation
  • Experience working within highly regulated government environments
  • Strong executive and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Solid program and portfolio management experience
  • Excellent coordination, communication and dependency management skills

Current AGSVA Baseline clearance is essential.

This role will be offered as an initial contract through to 30 June 2027, with a view to extension.
