Job summary

Recruitment Hive supports a Federal Government Department in Canberra to recruit a Release Train Engineer (RTE). In this SAFe environment, you will coordinate delivery across trains, align with the STE, and manage cross-program dependencies to achieve program outcomes.

You should have 7+ years leading large government Transformation programs, extensive SAFe experience, and proven skills in Business Design and Systems Implementation within regulated environments.

Job description

Our client, a Federal Government Department focused on an independent electoral system is seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join their team ASAP.

Duties:

• Coordinating and facilitating the delivery of a large-scale, complex government transformation program operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
• Working in close partnership with the Solution Train Engineer (STE) to ensure alignment across release trains, manage cross-program dependencies, and support integrated planning, delivery coordination and achievement of program outcomes.
• Providing coordination across multiple releases, multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), business workstreams, regulatory reform initiatives and supporting technology teams to ensure delivery from business design through to implementation achieves program outcomes.
• Promoting alignment, transparency and collaboration across teams and stakeholders, supporting effective planning, delivery reporting and informed decision-making, and ensuring legislative and regulatory outcomes, policy intent, operational business change and enabling technology solutions remain aligned and fit for purpose.

Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience (7+ years) leading large-scale government transformation programs.
• Extensive experience operating in SAFe or comparable scaled agile delivery environments.
• Proven experience in Business Design and Systems Implementation.
• Experience working within highly regulated government environments, including government governance and assurance requirements.
