Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Regulatory Response Manager to lead regulatory response activities and provide expert risk and compliance guidance across the business. You will coordinate evidence gathering, reviews and submissions while ensuring robust governance and controls.

Across stakeholder groups and with the Regulatory Response Program Manager, you will analyse trends, mitigate delivery risks and drive high-quality regulatory outcomes aligned with PFMI and other standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or managing regulatory responses, ideally in financial services or payments.
  • Experience coordinating evidence and stakeholders across complex regulatory activities.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory obligations, risk management and governance.
  • Ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and communicate issues clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Leading regulatory response activities, including planning, evidence gathering and submission coordination.
  • Providing risk and compliance advice to stakeholders on regulatory obligations and expectations.
  • Maintaining records, controls and governance to support regulatory requests and commitments.
  • Supporting the design, implementation and embedding of Group Risk activities related to regulatory responses.
  • Working with the Regulatory Response Program Manager to identify and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Analyzing information to produce accurate, consistent regulatory outcomes.
  • Designing reporting to track progress, risks and outcomes for governance forums.
  • Building relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Applying QA practices to improve the timeliness of regulatory responses.

The Role

As ourRegulatory Response Manager,you’llplayan important rolein supporting AP+ tomaintaina strong compliance posture and successfully respond to key regulatory matters and commitments,including AP+’s voluntary adoption of thePrinciples for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI).

You’llcoordinate regulatory response activities from planning and evidence gathering through to review, self-assessmentand submission, ensuring responses areaccurate,timelyand supported by robust governance.

Workingacross businessowners who are designing and implementing,you’llbring together stakeholders,provide specialist adviceandinsights to support high-quality,consistentand defensible regulatory outcomes.

This Role Is Responsible For:

  • Leading regulatory response activities, including planning, evidence gathering, review, self-assessmentand submission coordination.
  • Providing risk and compliance advice to stakeholders on regulatory obligations and expectations, particularly when designing and implementing initiatives supporting regulatory commitments.
  • Maintaining strong records,controlsand governance to support regulatory requests,responsesand commitments.
  • Supporting the design, implementation and embedding of Group Risk activities associated with regulatory responses.
  • Working closely with the Regulatory Response Program Manager toidentify, assess and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Analysing information,issuesand trends to supportaccurate,consistentand defensible regulatory responses.
  • Designing and implementing reporting to track regulatory response progress, risks,issuesand outcomes forGovernance Forums.
  • Building effective relationships across internal teams and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Applying quality assurance practices to improve the consistency,qualityand timeliness of regulatory responses.
  • Identifyingprocess improvements that strengthen AP+’s regulatory response capability and readiness.
  • Coordinating effective records management across regulatory response artefacts, evidence,decisionsand authorised information requests.
  • Staying across regulatory developments, industrytrendsand best practice to support continuous improvement.

In order tobe successful in this roleyou’llneed todemonstrate:

  • Experience supporting or managingregulatory responses, compliancemattersor regulatory commitments, ideally within financial services,paymentsor another regulated environment.
  • Experience coordinating evidence and stakeholders across complex regulatory or compliance activities.
  • Strong quality assurance capability, with experience reviewing evidence and supportingaccurate,consistentandtimelyregulatory responses.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory obligations, compliance practices, risk management,governanceand response controls.
  • The ability toidentifyand assess risks, developappropriate mitigationstrategies and clearly communicate issues to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to bring together complex information and evidence to produce clear, defensible outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams and levels of seniority.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing evidence, records,reportingand governance requirements.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in risk, compliance,governanceor a related discipline. Relevant professional certification or membership is also desirable.
