Job summary

Australian Payments Plus Limited is seeking a Manager, Business Risk to strengthen AP+’s control environment and provide assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of key controls. You will plan and execute control assurance activities, assess control effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

• At least 5 years’ experience in risk management within a complex environment.
• Experience across risk assessment, control implementation, control assurance/testing and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies and best practice.
• Ability to translate assurance activity into clear reporting and insights.

Responsibilities

• Delivering control assurance activities in line with the Group Risk Control Assurance Plan, ensuring testing is risk-based and timely.
• Planning and executing control design and operating effectiveness testing.
• Translating assurance findings into insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Partnering with control owners to validate assurance outcomes and drive remediation.
• Monitoring and reporting on delivery of the Control Assurance Plan and remediation progress.
• Providing management with visibility of the strength and maturity of AP+’s control environment.
• Contributing to ongoing development of AP+’s control assurance approach.

The Role

As ourManager, Business Risk,you’llplayan important rolein strengthening AP+’s control environment by providing assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.

Working within Group Risk,you’llplan and execute control assurance activities, assess controleffectivenessandidentifyareas for improvement.You’llpartner closely with control owners and stakeholders to turn assurance outcomes into meaningful insights and support thetimelyremediation of control deficiencies.

This is an opportunity to influence how controls are designed,ownedand embedded across AP+, contributing to the ongoing maturity of our risk management capability.

This roleis responsible for:

• Delivering control assurance activities in line with the Group Risk Control Assurance Plan, ensuring testing is risk-based, high quality and completed within agreedtimeframes.
• Planning and executing control design and operating effectiveness testing, using sound judgement to assess the effectiveness of controls.
• Translating assurance findings into meaningful insights,identifyingsystemic issues, emergingthemesand opportunities to improve control maturity.
• Partnering with control owners and stakeholders tovalidateassurance outcomes, agree control deficiencies and drive sustainable improvements.
• Monitoring and reporting on the delivery of the Control Assurance Plan, controleffectivenessand remediation progress.
• Providing management with clear visibility of the strength and maturity of AP+’s control environment.
• Contributing to the ongoing development of AP+’s control assurance approach, promoting stronger control ownership, consistentpracticesand continuous improvement.

In order tobe successful in this role,you’llneed todemonstrate:

• At least 5 years’ experience in risk management, ideally within a complex organisational environment.
• Strong practical experience across risk assessment, control implementation, control assurance/testingand risk mitigation.
• A strong understanding of risk management frameworks,methodologiesand industry best practice.
• The ability to assess risks and vulnerabilities, understand their potential impact and developappropriate mitigationstrategies.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage control owners and constructively challenge whererequired.
• The ability to translate assurance activity and data into clear reporting,insightsand recommendations.
• Strong judgement, analyticalcapabilityand attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the financial services, payments technology and/or IT environment, with technology risk experience highly regarded.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Finance, BusinessAdministrationor a related discipline; professional risk or compliance qualifications would beadvantageous.
