Job summary

The Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission is seeking an Inspector to monitor compliance across the NSW greyhound racing industry. This hands-on role involves conducting property and kennel inspections, assisting with investigations, gathering evidence, and advising industry participants to uphold welfare and legislative standards.

Based in the Hunter region, you will travel around NSW, work evenings and weekends as required, and collaborate with enforcement agencies and animal welfare

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking compliance, regulatory, investigative, inspection, enforcement, or similar activities in a regulatory environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, integrity, and the ability to work impartially and professionally.
• Strong written skills and attention to detail when preparing notes, reports, and recommendations.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• A willingness to learn and apply legislation, policies, and operational procedures consistently.

Responsibilities

• Conducting inspections of greyhound properties and kennels.
• Assisting with investigations, evidence collection, interviews, and reporting.
• Providing education and compliance advice to industry participants.
• Preparing recommendations, work directions, and compliance documentation.
• Maintaining accurate records and responding to complaints and enquiries.
• Working closely with colleagues, enforcement agencies, and animal welfare organisations.
