Transgrid in Sydney is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to join the Regulatory Strategy team and help shape Australia’s energy regulation and policy framework.

You will support regulatory strategy through research, regulatory and financial modelling, and stakeholder engagement across a diverse initiative portfolio, contributing to major submissions and revenue determinations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electricity industry, regulatory policy or public policy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in research, analysis, modelling or technical documentation.
  • Ability to learn quickly in evolving environments.
  • Degree in economics, law, commerce, engineering, finance or related discipline.

About the Role

We are seeking a Regulatory Analyst to join our Regulatory Strategy team and help shape the regulatory and policy frameworks underpinning Australia's energy future.

In this role, you will support Transgrid's regulatory strategy through research, analysis, financial and regulatory modelling, and stakeholder engagement across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. You will contribute to major regulatory submissions, revenue determinations, investment assessments and policy reform activities that influence how Australia's energy infrastructure is planned, funded and delivered.

What You'll Do
  • Undertake research, analysis and regulatory modelling to support strategic regulatory decisions and submissions.
  • Contribute to revenue proposals, RINs, RIT-Ts and policy submissions.
  • Prepare briefing papers, reports and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver key regulatory milestones.
  • Monitor developments in energy regulation and policy.
What You'll Bring
  • Foundational knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, the electricity industry, economic regulation, public policy or commercial analysis, with the ability and motivation to develop specialist knowledge of transmission regulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a strong aptitude to learn and confidence working in evolving environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in research, analysis, modelling or technical documentation.
  • Degree qualifications in economics, law, commerce, engineering, finance, public policy or related discipline.
