Transgrid seeks a Senior Engineer to lead contracts for grid-forming batteries and provide expert power system modelling for system strength initiatives in NSW. You will engage with non-network proponents and support commercial negotiations, while guiding regulatory documentation and business cases.
The role requires extensive electricity industry experience, strong modelling skills in PSSE/PSCAD, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders and forums.

Transgrid’s Energy Transition team develops and delivers initiatives to ensure the secure operation of the NSW power system at up to 100% instantaneous renewable supply, including delivering system security services and supporting the operability of the grid.
The Energy Transition team is heavily focussed on delivering solutions to maintain system strength in the NSW power system. We have identified a diverse portfolio of solutions required, including synchronous condensers, over 5GW of grid-forming batteries, modifications to synchronous machines and contracts with synchronous machines to fill gaps in system strength.
Are you an electricity system and technology expert, passionate about enabling the rapid transformation of Australia’s electricity system?
