Job summary

Transgrid in Sydney is looking for an experienced Procurement Lead (Major Projects & Delivery) to lead end-to-end procurement across flagship infrastructure programs, from strategy through to contract award and supplier management. You’ll develop sourcing strategies, run tender processes, and negotiate contracts to deliver commercial value and risk mitigation for critical energy projects.

Procurement Lead, Major Projects & Delivery

Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.

Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Procurement Lead (Major Projects & Delivery) to help deliver the infrastructure that will power Australia's energy future. Partnering across the business and with key suppliers, you'll lead complex procurement programs from strategy through to contract award and supplier management, ensuring successful outcomes for some of the country's most transformative projects.

This role is ideal for a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, influencing stakeholders and building strong partnerships to achieve shared success. What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities across major projects and strategic spend categories.
  • Develop sourcing and procurement strategies that deliver value and manage risk.
  • Lead tender processes, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide trusted commercial advice.
  • Build and manage high‑performing supplier relationships.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven procurement experience (5+ years) preferably within infrastructure, construction or major projects, with the ability to build strong partnerships and deliver successful commercial outcomes in complex environments.
  • Strong sourcing, commercial and contract management expertise.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and deliver outcomes through partnership and shared success.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience in comparable industries
