Job summary

NSW Health’s Westmead Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Service on a permanent basis. You’ll apply critical care expertise across complex cases and work within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

In this role you’ll monitor and respond to evolving patient needs, document care meticulously, and contribute to learning and evidence-based practice. AHPRA registration is required and prior ICU experience is preferred.

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent experience in Intensive Care or critical care nursing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Experience with health information systems is desirable.

What you'll be doing As a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care, you'll bring your clinical judgement, critical care experience and person-centred approach to every shift. Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality, evidence-informed nursing care

Recognise and respond to changing patient needs while managing competing clinical priorities

Collaborate effectively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary healthcare team

Maintain accurate clinical documentation, care plans and progress records

Contribute to education, mentoring, quality improvement and evidence-based practice within the service

What we're looking for We're looking for Registered Nurses who are ready to bring their experience, curiosity and commitment to a challenging and rewarding critical care environment.

You will have:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Recent experience in Intensive Care, critical care nursing, or other relevant experience considered appropriate by WSLHD

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail

Computer literacy and an understanding of relevant health information systems

Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

Recent demonstrated experience in the Intensive Care setting or critical care nursing/other experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD

Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstration ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients

Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail

Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems
