Job summary

Torbay Lifestyles & Care in Hervey Bay, QLD, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based nursing care aligned with resident care plans.

You will lead a care team, supervise RN Graduates, ENs, Student Nurses and PCWs, and collaborate with families, GP's and allied health staff to deliver high-quality care. A commitment to aged care quality and ongoing professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
• Maintain up-to-date professional and ethical practice in aged care and infection control as per Nurses Code of Conduct.
• Police Certificate (valid and current).
• COVID-19 vaccinations x 2 and current flu vaccination recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care per residents' care plans in collaboration with residents and care team.
• Lead and supervise Registered Nurse Graduates, Enrolled Nurses, Student Nurses and Personal Care Workers.
• Liaise with clinical staff, residents, families, allied health professionals, GPs and external organisations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents' needs and conditions.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) You Are Responsible For

• Providing evidence‑based nursing care for residents in accordance with their care plan and in cooperation with the resident and other members of the care team.
• The supervision and direction of Registered Nurse Graduates, Enrolled Nurses (EN), Student Nurses and Personal Care Workers (PCW).
• Liaising closely with clinical staff, residents, families, allied health professionals, GP's and relevant external organisations.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of care staff to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered.
• Managing staff performance, including conducting regular performance reviews and providing support for ongoing development.
• Providing high‑quality medical care, including assessing residents’ health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.
• Developing and implementing individualised care plans based on residents’ specific needs and conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Nursing with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Current valid First Aid and CPR Certificates.
• Maintain up to date professional and ethical practice in the provision of aged care services and infection control in line with legal and AHPRA requirements and the Nurses Code of Conduct.
