Job summary

Exact Labour Hire is recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for an ongoing full‑time role in the Cradle Mountain region of Tasmania. You will report to the Head Chef and help run a busy kitchen across regional locations.

The position requires leadership, strong food‑safety knowledge and cost awareness, with typical hours around 38 per week and a base salary of $96,000–$105,000 plus super.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised commercial cookery qualification and at least two years full‑time chef experience.
• If no formal qualification is held, have at least five years of verifiable experience as a Chef.
• Be able to provide two professional referees and documentation of prior employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high‑quality meals under Head Chef guidance.
• Lead kitchen operations during shifts and supervise junior staff.
• Assist with menu planning, costing and stock control.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Roster and allocate duties, monitor quality and waste control.
