Job summary

Queensland Police Service and Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) seek a leader to establish and grow the Regional Support Centre, guiding a team in coordinating volunteer responders and emergency operations.

You will work with MRQ volunteers across the region, manage resources, participate in disaster planning, and potentially travel within the state for deployments and on-call duties outside ordinary hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in Maritime Search and Rescue Organisations (national/international)
• Willing to acquire formal search and rescue qualifications within six months of commencement
• Possession of Open ‘C' Class Queensland Drivers Licence (mandatory)

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of operational service delivery plans and provide strategic advice on response programs
• Lead and manage delivery of operational outcomes with volunteers in a dynamic disaster/emergency environment
• Manage human resources, financial and asset management functions for the area
• Represent MRQ and coordinate with Disaster Management Groups as required
• Undertake and support operational duties during emergencies, including travel to rural/remote communities and on-call rosters
