Job summary

The Queensland Fire Department in Maryborough, QLD, seeks an Executive Manager [District Coordination] to oversee operations across Area Offices and drive excellence in prevention, preparedness, response and recovery for bushfires and emergencies in the district.

You will lead district-wide programs, collaborate with volunteers and stakeholders to plan, implement and evaluate initiatives, and ensure operational capacity and asset management across the District, including budgeting

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate senior leadership experience in rural fire or emergency services.
• Experience coordinating across multiple District-level offices and volunteers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and community education skills.

Responsibilities

• In consultation with the Assistant Chief Officer, lead, manage, and coordinate RFSQ operations during large-scale multi-agency incidents and disasters within the District, and maintain operational awareness and oversight to ensure effective response across the District.
• Collaborate with Regional Asset Officers to oversee management and purchasing of district assets, ensuring fit-for-purpose appliances, fleet and equipment.
• Oversee resources to ensure general operational capacity and capability across the District, including managing the senior on-call roster.
• Liaise with Bushfire Mitigation to oversee bushfire mitigation activities and lead district debriefs.
• Provide District input into capability planning and regional strategic and operational plans, and support execution.
• Support achievement of performance requirements including risk management and budget oversight.
• Represent RFSQ at District level during complex major incidents, focusing on impacts on the local community.
