Job summary

Woods & Co Recruitment is partnering with a transport and logistics business to appoint an experienced NSW/QLD Operations Manager. Based in Blacktown, Sydney, you will own day-to-day operations across NSW and Queensland, lead teams and subcontractors, drive service delivery and strengthen customer relationships.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering reliable service, optimizing transport capacity and improving operational performance to achieve strong commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience within transport or logistics.
• Experience in dispatch, fleet control and subcontractor networks.
• Strong leadership with ability to coach teams across locations.
• Sound commercial acumen, including cost control and reporting.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations, including bookings, dispatch, fleet control, job allocation, collections and deliveries across NSW and QLD.
• Lead and develop fleet controllers, customer service personnel and operations staff while managing subcontractors and owner-drivers.
• Build strong customer relationships, resolve service issues and identify opportunities to increase volumes and allocations.
• Monitor operational costs, fleet utilisation, carrier performance and profitability with accurate reporting and invoicing.
• Maintain compliance with WHS, NHVR and Chain of Responsibility requirements, including fatigue management and subcontractor documentation.
