Woods & Co in Sydney is seeking an experienced NSW/QLD Operations Manager to own day-to-day transport operations across NSW and Queensland. Based in Bella Vista, Sydney, this hands-on leadership role focuses on service delivery, team leadership, and subcontractor management.

You will drive profitability through effective capacity planning, customer relationship management and strong reporting, while ensuring WHS and compliance across both states.

• Proven management experience within transport, freight, or logistics with fleet operations responsibility.
• Strong experience in transport dispatch, fleet control and subcontractor management.
• Demonstrated leadership to coach teams and maintain accountability across locations.
• Sound commercial acumen including cost control and operational reporting.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer relationship skills.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily transport operations across NSW and QLD, including bookings, dispatch, fleet control, and deliveries.
• Lead and develop fleet controllers, customer service personnel and operations staff while managing subcontractors and owner‑drivers.
• Build strong customer relationships, resolve service issues and identify opportunities to increase freight volumes and allocations.
• Monitor operational costs, fleet utilisation, carrier performance and job profitability with accurate reporting and invoicing.
• Maintain compliance with WHS, NHVR and Chain of Responsibility requirements, including fatigue management and subcontractor documentation.

Woods & Co is partnering with an established transport and logistics business seeking an experienced NSW/QLD Operations Manager to take ownership of its day-to-day operations across New South Wales and Queensland. Based in Bella Vista, Sydney, this is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a transport professional who can drive service delivery, lead teams and subcontractors, strengthen customer relationships and improve operational performance.

With responsibility across two states, you’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable service, managing transport capacity and maintaining strong operational and commercial outcomes.

What do you do?

• Sound commercial acumen, including cost control, operational reporting and improving profitability
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer relationship skills
