Job summary

Elders is seeking a Stock Agent to join the Emerald / Clermont team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will be the trusted advisor for livestock clients across the Emerald / Clermont region, supporting on-farm success with guidance on livestock sales, general merchandise, nutrition and animal health solutions.

You will assist with sale preparation activities including weighing, processing, vaccinating and drenching cattle on farm, while also identifying opportunities to cross-sell Elders'

Qualifications

• Previous experience in livestock handling or sales processing.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client service skills.
• Ability to assess livestock condition and value with accuracy.
• A current driver's licence and selling license (or willingness to obtain one).
• A genuine passion for rural communities and the agriculture industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, service-based relationships with livestock clients
• Coordinate and conduct on-farm livestock assessments and prepare sale listings
• Facilitate livestock sales through auctions, paddock sales, feedlot programs, or online platforms
• Provide accurate market insights and price expectations to clients
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across agency, finance, insurance, and retail
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of livestock markets, trends, and seasonal factors
