Job summary

Elders Rural Services Australia Limited is seeking a Stock Agent for the Emerald/Clermont region. The role focuses on advising livestock clients, supporting on-farm success, and driving cross-sell opportunities across Elders' product range.

You will assist with sale preparation, weigh, vaccinate and drench cattle on farm, and build strong client connections through service-based relationships and market insights. A driver’s licence and selling licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with livestock handling (station/feedlot work) or sales processing.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client service skills.
• Ability to assess livestock condition and value accurately.
• Current driver’s licence and selling licence (or willingness to obtain).

• Coordinate and conduct on-farm livestock assessments and prepare sale listings.
• Facilitate livestock sales through auctions, paddock sales, feedlot programs, or online platforms.

• Identify cross-selling opportunities across agency, finance, insurance, and retail.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of livestock markets, trends, and seasonal factors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Stock Agent to join our Emerald / Clermont team on a permanent, full-time basis. As our Stock Agent, you will be the trusted advisor and key point of contact for livestock clients across the Emerald / Clermont region. Working closely with local producers and the wider branch team, you’ll support on-farm success by providing guidance on livestock sales, general merchandise, nutrition and supplement products, and animal health solutions. You’ll assist with sale preparation activities including weighing, processing, vaccinating and drenching cattle on farm, while also identifying opportunities to cross-sell Elders' broader range of products and services. This is a relationship-driven role focused on building strong client connections and driving new business across the region.

• The ability to assess livestock condition and value with accuracy
• A current driver's licence and selling license (or willingness to obtain one)
• A genuine passion for rural communities and the agriculture industry
• Ability to provide proof of Q-Fever vaccination or immunity, or willingness to obtain
