Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners, on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads, seeks an experienced AO4 Human Resource Officer to join the HR Program Support team in Nerang, QLD. This 12‑month contract provides practical HR support to project managers, team leaders and staff across the South Coast Region.

The role involves advising on policy, using HRIS, coordinating induction and payroll matters, and building strong relationships with managers and employees, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Experience in Human Resource Management or HR support.
• Ability to interpret policy and provide accurate advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support team leaders and managers across a broad range of HR matters.
• Research and analyse routine HR issues and make policy-aligned recommendations.
• Coordinate employee induction and exit processes across the region.
• Liaise with employees and leaders regarding establishment and payroll matters.
• Apply HR policies and processes to day‑to‑day operations.
• Prepare HR forms and maintain records.
• Utilise HRIS for data entry, interrogation and reporting.
• Support culture and employee recognition activities.
• Contribute to HR and business improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with managers, employees and stakeholders.
• Collate and report on HR and administrative activities.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation.
