Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd invites applications for a Resident Field Service Fitter based in the Bendigo region. You will service customers across Northern Victoria with minimal supervision, supported by a skilled team and the Somerton branch.

You will diagnose, service and repair Hitachi equipment in the field, manage tasks and report findings with a focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. A strong diagnostic mindset and autonomous work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification (Mobile Plant / Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent).
• Proven experience in field service within construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and technical skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management.
• Customer-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• OEM experience highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Hitachi construction and earthmoving equipment in the field.
• Manage daily workflow, job scheduling and customer communication.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across regional territory.
• Complete and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure all work complies with Hitachi's safety and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
