Job summary

Telstra Corporation seeks a Regional Defence Technician to operate on customer sites, perform end-to-end activation and assurance, and manage ICT environments compliant with SLAs. The role requires NV1 clearance, strong customer management, and expertise in Juniper networks and voice technologies.

You will work without immediate supervision, support a regional defence team, and contribute to ongoing security and documentation efforts while engaging with multiple teams to deliver solutions.

Qualifications

• NV1 AGSVA security clearance required.
• High degree of customer management skills.
• Knowledge of Juniper data networks.
• Experience with voice technology IP and analogue SFB.
• Experience with passive ICT copper and fibre.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Ability to manage conflicting demands.
• Desirable: experience acting in a Program Manager capacity.
• Desirable: broad knowledge of commercial, technical & legal issues.
• Desirable: construction industry exposure through project management.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support regional defence team and identify opportunities.
• Work on the customer’s ICT environment including Juniper network, wireless, Skype for Business, video conferencing, and passive infrastructure.
• Manage workload in the service management tool to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Deliver service requests meeting customer requirements within SLAs.
• Update documentation during changes to maintain ICT environment accuracy.
• Maintain and report ICT security.
• Provide weekly reporting or escalation to Delivery Manager.
• Contribute to and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
