Job summary

NT Christian Schools is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal for our Alice Springs campus. In this full-time role you will collaborate with the Principal and senior leaders to drive educational excellence, support staff development and foster a nurturing school community in a regional setting.

Based in Alice Springs, you will lead on curriculum, teaching quality, student outcomes, discipline, pastoral care, timetabling, and compliance while upholding the Christian mission.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with current registration to teach in Australia.
• 7–10 years of teaching experience, with 3–5 years in leadership or middle management.
• Proven expertise in curriculum development and assessment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Experience in regional or remote school settings preferred.
• Working with Children clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal in strategic direction and day-to-day management.
• Provide educational leadership and mentoring to staff.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and teaching quality.
• Lead student welfare, discipline and pastoral care systems.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback.
• Coordinate professional development and staff training.
• Engage with parents on student progress.
• Contribute to policy development and school operations.
• Assist with timetabling and resource allocation.
• Uphold the Christian values and mission.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
