Job summary

NT Christian Schools invites applications for an Acting Assistant Principal at the Gawa campus on Elcho Island, Northern Territory. This fixed-term, full-time role provides strategic leadership alongside the Principal to guide school operations, policy development and educational initiatives in a unique remote community.

You will support curriculum delivery, staff development and community engagement, while upholding Christian values and ensuring compliance with education regulations.

Qualifications

• Current teaching qualification and relevant teaching experience in primary or secondary education.
• Demonstrated school leadership experience, ideally in a management or assistant principal capacity.
• Knowledge of educational best practices and curriculum frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal in the overall management and administration of the school.
• Oversee student welfare, pastoral care programmes and wellbeing initiatives.
• Manage staff scheduling, supervision and professional development initiatives.
• Coordinate curriculum delivery and educational quality assurance.
• Liaise with parents, carers and community members to foster positive relationships.
• Ensure compliance with education policies and school procedures.
• Attend leadership team meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
• Deputise for the Principal in their absence.
