Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Regional Driver Development Coach to lead safe, compliant, and efficient driver training across our HAZ & LIQUID WASTE TANKERS operations. This hands-on role focuses on developing drivers, raising standards, and improving safety performance.

You will recruit and onboard, deliver ongoing training, maintain records in Express Class, and collaborate with management to drive continuous improvement across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years HGV driving experience across multiple modes.
• Valid Class 1 HGV licence, DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• ADR qualification with waste vacuum tanker experience.
• Proven experience in driver training or transport roles.
• Organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of driver legislation and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and onboarding: support hiring with pre-employment assessments and inductions.
• Ongoing driver training and refresher programs.
• Maintain driver competence records using Express Class.
• Post-incident reassessment and retraining.
• Driving performance reviews with management.
• Behavioural interventions for drivers requiring improvement.
• Continuous improvement and development of training delivery.
