Job summary

Pacific National–Australia’s largest private rail freight operator–is seeking a Driver Trainer based at Coppabella. You will deliver hands-on and classroom training, assess competency and mentor train crews to meet Rail Safety Worker standards while supporting safe, high-performing operations.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will develop individual training plans, manage records and collaborate with leaders to ensure consistent outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Cert IV in Train Driving and Cert IV in Training & Assessment.
• Proven experience as Mainline or Mentor Driver with accreditation.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on and classroom driver training in accordance with requirements.
• Assess competency and mentor train crew to meet Rail Safety Worker standards.
• Develop and manage individual training plans aligned to operations.
• Ensure records, currency and assessments are completed on time.
• Collaborate with Supervisors, Operational Leaders and Training Specialists.
• Promote a strong safety culture and knowledge sharing.
