Akadia is looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist to join our Toowoomba team!

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a welcoming and supportive workplace where no two days are the same. If you enjoy variety, thrive in a busy office environment and take pride in providing exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you!

We are offering a full-time position, with the flexibility to consider a job-share arrangement for suitable candidates seeking part-time hours.

About Akadia

Akadia is a Toowoomba-based Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 32526) and registered NDIS provider of Community Nursing (Provider ID 4050018792).

Through Akadia Training and Akadia Community Care, we are passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives by delivering quality education, training and community nursing services.

We pride ourselves on our friendly, collaborative team culture and our commitment to supporting both our clients and our staff.

About the Role

As our Receptionist, you'll be the friendly face and welcoming voice of Akadia, playing an important role in creating a positive first impression for students, clients, visitors and stakeholders.

You’ll also be a valued member of our administration team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy Toowoomba office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming visitors and providing professional, friendly reception services.
  • Answering incoming calls, responding to emails and managing online enquiries.
  • Providing information to prospective students about courses, enrolments, fees and funding eligibility.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and updating our student management system.
  • Assisting with student enrolments, administrative processes and payment processing.
  • Liaising with students, employers, traineeship stakeholders and vocational placement providers.
  • Undertaking general office administration, data entry and document management.
  • Providing administrative support to our trainers, nurses, management and wider team.
  • Helping maintain an organised, efficient and welcoming office environment.
About You

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong organisational skills and a genuine willingness to help others.

To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in reception, administration or a customer service role, and/or a relevant qualification.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Great organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative.
  • A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn new systems, processes and procedures.

Highly regarded, but not essential:

  • Experience working with databases or student management systems.
  • Previous experience in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or education and training environment.

Don't have experience in the training industry? That's okay! We’re more interested in finding the right person with a great attitude, strong administration skills and a willingness to learn.
