You'll oversee a diverse range of operations, including retail, café services, bookings, accommodation and tour programmes, ensuring each area operates efficiently and delivers a consistent standard of service.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can bring people together, strengthen operational processes and balance customer experience with commercial outcomes.

You’ll:

  • Lead, mentor and develop supervisors and front-of-house staff
  • Coordinate daily operations across multiple visitor-facing services
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and operational performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and team effectiveness
  • Oversee café and retail operations, including stock and inventory management
  • Manage bookings through ResPax and maintain associated tour documentation
  • Coordinate accommodation services and third-party events
  • Support recruitment, rostering, onboarding and staff training
  • Build a positive team culture focused on accountability, collaboration and visitor satisfaction

You'll also need to be ready to relocate to Winton, commence as soon as possible and work a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays. The busiest period generally runs from April to September.

A Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Check are required, or you must be eligible to obtain them. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

About the Employer

The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History is a world-class, not-for-profit organisation at the forefront of Australia's most significant dinosaur discoveries.

Located atop The Jump-Up, a spectacular mesa approximately 24km from Winton in Central West Queensland, the Museum is home to the world's largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils.

Since opening in 2009, the Museum has grown into a major regional attraction, welcoming more than 55,000 visitors each year. Its attractions include a Fossil Preparation Laboratory, the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition, the Gondwana Stars Observatory and Dinosaur Canyon. The Museum also manages Dinosaur Stampede National Monument at Lark Quarry Conservation Park, home to the world's only known record of a dinosaur stampede.

With plans to develop Australia's premier natural history museum, this is an exciting time to join the organisation and contribute to its continued growth.
