Job summary

Transit Systems NSW is seeking an Operations Control Centre Coordinator in Sydney to help keep bus services running safely and reliably. You will monitor the network in real time, respond to incidents, and coordinate service adjustments with depot teams and transport partners.

You will liaise with Bus Operators and other stakeholders, provide clear instructions, and support operations during disruptions. A NSW driver’s licence is preferred but optional, and a diverse, inclusive workplace is

Qualifications

• No specific bus industry experience required; transferable skills from logistics, dispatch or emergency services are valued.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick, clear decisions.
• Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate with Bus Operators and depot teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor bus services in real time and identify delays, disruptions and safety risks.
• Coordinate service adjustments and recovery activities to minimise disruption.
• Provide clear, calm and accurate instructions to Bus Operators via radio, phone and digital systems.
• Respond to incidents, duress alarms, breakdowns and other operational situations.
• Liaise with depot teams, On-Road Coordinators and emergency services as required.
• Support service coordination during major events and significant disruptions.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, incident reports and performance information.
• Use operational systems to support timely decision-making and information sharing.
• Contribute ideas to improve safety, reliability and customer experience.
