Tandem Personnel is representing a well-established specialist electrical engineering and installation company seeking an Electrical Project Engineer / Scheduler to drive planning and delivery across healthcare, commercial, industrial and public sector projects in Australia.

The role combines project engineering, scheduling and client liaison, coordinating multiple electrical projects from award to completion while ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating electrical projects and managing schedules.
• Proven ability to plan labour, materials, plant and subcontractor resources.
• Proficiency with MS Project and general IT skills.
• NEC contract knowledge, SMSTS/SSSTS and IOSH qualifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining project programmes and schedules.
• Coordinating LV switchgear replacement and electrical infrastructure projects.
• Planning labour, materials, plant and subcontractor resources.
• Monitoring progress against programme milestones.
• Managing procurement schedules, especially long-lead items.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established specialist electrical engineering and installation company, for an Electrical Project Engineer / Scheduler to join their growing team.

The company delivers electrical infrastructure projects across healthcare, commercial, industrial and public sector environments, specialising in LV switchgear, power distribution systems, generators, UPS systems and associated electrical installations.

This is a varied role combining project engineering, planning, scheduling and client liaison, with responsibility for coordinating multiple electrical projects from initial award through to completion.

The Role

You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, site managers and engineers to ensure projects are well planned and delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining project programmes and schedules
• Coordinating LV switchgear replacement and electrical infrastructure projects
• Planning labour, materials, plant and subcontractor resources
• Monitoring progress against programme milestones
• Managing procurement schedules, particularly for long-lead items
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and site teams
• Assisting with electrical shutdown and changeover planning
• Tracking project costs and supporting commercial reporting
• Managing project documentation, including RAMS, programmes and O&M information
• Attending site meetings and providing project updates
• Supporting commissioning, testing and project handover
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with BS7671 and relevant industry standards

About You

We are looking for someone with experience within the electrical installation industry, together with a good understanding of LV power distribution and switchgear systems.

You will need:

• Experience coordinating electrical projects and managing schedules
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• A full UK driving licence
• An HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, experience within healthcare, industrial or critical infrastructure environments, NEC contract knowledge, AutoCAD experience or SMSTS/SSSTS and IOSH qualifications would be advantageous.

This role could suit an Electrical Project Engineer, Electrical Contracts Engineer, Project Coordinator, Planner, Scheduler or Site Manager with relevant electrical experience.
