Job summary

Eight Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Electrical Project Engineer to join a specialist electrical manufacturing company based in Cardiff. You will own end‑to‑end electrical and gas management projects, working with engineering and production teams, and clients to drive successful outcomes from concept through commissioning.

You will lead design work, oversee project execution, manage documentation, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure safe, compliant, high‑quality delivery on site.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Electrical Engineer or Advanced Diploma + extensive relevant experience
• Demonstrated industry experience delivering electrical projects—ideally within heavy industrial, mining, or manufacturing environments
• Proficient with AutoCAD and confident creating and interpreting detailed electrical drawings
• Skilled in preparing technical documentation and working with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
• Comfortable working with M365 and ideally familiar with MRP/ERP platforms or project tools such as Smartsheet
• Organised, detail-driven, and hands-on—you’re someone who takes ownership and gets the job done

Responsibilities

• Liaising with clients and suppliers to define scope, manage expectations, and ensure successful project outcomes
• Leading quality assurance processes, including technical documentation and drawing control
• Acting as job owner and project manager for electrical and gas equipment builds
• Developing technical documentation and production packs for workshop manufacture
• Overseeing commissioning and site installation activities, ensuring compliance, safety, and high-quality delivery
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and contribute to continued business growth
