Job summary

Core Talent is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Planner for Brisbane-based major electrical construction projects. You will work with project managers, engineers, and site teams to plan, program, and monitor schedules ensuring milestones are met.

The role requires expertise in electrical construction sequencing, Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, and strong communication skills to coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders across large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Planner / Senior Planner within electrical construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Proven ability to manage project scheduling on large-scale electrical or HV projects.

Electrical Project Planner
Brisbane | $150k-$180k + package

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Planner to join a leading Australian engineering and electrical contractor delivering some of the country's most complex and technically challenging projects. With a strong track record across commercial, infrastructure, health, defence, data centres, industrial and high-voltage projects, the business has a reputation for delivering large-scale electrical works from design and engineering through to installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

We are now looking for an experienced Electrical Project Planner to join the project delivery team and play a key role in planning, programming and monitoring major electrical projects.

The Role

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and the wider project team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project programs while ensuring projects remain on track for time, cost and delivery milestones. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, maintaining and updating detailed project programs
• Planning and sequencing electrical construction activities
• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to establish realistic construction methodologies and timeframes
• Monitoring project progress against baseline programs and identifying potential delays
• Providing regular progress reporting and schedule updates
• Identifying critical path activities, risks and opportunities
• Supporting project teams with short, medium and long-term planning
• Coordinating program requirements with subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders
• Assisting with look-ahead programs and construction planning
• Analysing project performance and recommending corrective actions where required
• Supporting variations, EOTs and delay analysis where required
• Ensuring project programs align with contractual milestones and client requirements

About You

We are looking for a Project Planner with a strong electrical construction background who understands how complex electrical projects are delivered on site.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Project Planner / Planner / Senior Planner within electrical construction
• Strong understanding of electrical construction methodologies and sequencing
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, infrastructure, industrial, health, defence, data centre or HV projects
• Strong knowledge of construction programs, critical paths and project scheduling
• Experience using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
• Ability to interpret drawings, scopes, construction methodologies and project documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
