Job summary

Keys Group in Callington, Cornwall, is seeking a Female Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and brain injuries in our specialist supported living and outreach service. You will work on day-to-day support, promoting independence and person-centred planning.

The role includes helping with health care, attending appointments, teaching life skills, personal care and domestic tasks.

Qualifications

  • Full UK manual driving license and experience working with challenging behaviours.
  • Female candidate due to genuine occupational requirement.
  • Experience in learning disabilities, autism, mental health, and brain injuries is relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and routines for people in the service.
  • Encourage independence and personal development through activities and hobbies.
  • Support with health care needs and accompany to appointments; administer medications as required.
  • Teach life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, and shopping.
  • Assist with personal care and domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Offer guidance and emotional support to residents.

Our specialist Supported Living and Outreach service in

Callington

provides support for people with

Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health

needs and Acquired Brain Injuries

We work in partnership with Local Health Professionals such as social workers, community nurses, and specialists such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Person Centred Planning Our staff support each person to create a person-centred plan that tells us how they want to live their life now and in the future. Through a range of communication tools, we ensure that each person is closely involved in the development of their own plan.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
