Job summary

The City of Palmerston is seeking a Rates Support Officer to contribute to the effective administration of the Council’s rating functions. You will manage ratepayer enquiries, process transactions and assist with debt collection while delivering excellent customer service.

With a focus on accuracy and compliance, you will work with a range of stakeholders and use corporate management information systems to support rates processes in line with Council policies and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• Background in accounting, finance or business with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities while delivering quality customer service.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills; confident with computer systems and MIS.
• Willingness to learn and improve processes and outcomes.
