Job summary

Next Level Consulting Solutions in Bathurst NSW is seeking an experienced Assembly Personnel to join our engineering and manufacturing operation. You will be part of a workshop team fabricating and assembling large steel components for railway infrastructure, using hand tools and power tools and reading basic drawings.

The role demands measuring, fitting fasteners, basic fabrication, and ensuring workmanship meets specifications, with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience in a heavy engineering environment.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
• Experience with structural or heavy steel.
• Good measuring, fitting and fabrication skills.
• Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Strong safety mindset and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assemble railway components and sub-assemblies per drawings.
• Use hand and power tools to fit, tighten and assemble.
• Measure components with tape, rulers and gauges.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specs.
• Position large steel components, using cranes when trained.
• Perform grinding, drilling and other fabrication tasks.
• Check work for accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Support tradespeople like boilermakers, welders and machinists.
