Job description

Workshop & Assembly Staff | Manufacturing

Exectronics is seeking a reliable, practical and motivated individual to join our workshop and manufacturing team in North Sydney. This is a varied, hands-on role involving the assembly and manufacture of specialised electrical and electronic equipment used throughout Australia's rail networks.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is comfortable using tools and equipment, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Formal trade or engineering qualifications are not required.

We welcome applicants with practical experience from a range of backgrounds, as well as those looking to develop their skills in a specialised manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • General workshop assembly and manufacturing activities
  • Measuring, cutting, drilling and preparing materials and components
  • Mounting and assembling mechanical and electrical components
  • Basic fabrication and modification of brackets, panels and enclosures
  • Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
  • Following technical drawings, measurements and assembly instructions
  • Assisting with basic electrical assembly and wiring where appropriate
  • Preparing components and materials for production
  • Assisting with quality control and general workshop operations
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
About You

We're looking for someone with a practical mindset, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Confidence using basic hand tools and power tools
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to follow instructions and work accurately
  • A reliable, organized and proactive approach
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • An interest in manufacturing, engineering or mechanical assembly
  • Full working rights in Australia

Previous workshop, manufacturing, assembly or fabrication experience would be advantageous but is not essential. An electrical or mechanical background, familiarity with technical drawings or previous rail industry experience would also be beneficial.

We value practical ability, reliability and a willingness to learn over formal qualifications.

What We Offer
  • Flexible part-time employment with regular Monday-Friday hours
  • Stable, workshop-based work with no regular site travel
  • On-the-job training and technical skill development
  • Exposure to specialised railway signaling and electrical equipment
  • Opportunities to learn CAD, CNC and manufacturing processes
  • Varied and interesting work across different products and projects
  • Supportive team environment
  • Opportunities for ongoing development and long-term employment
