Job summary

A Boilermaker/Welder role based in Bathurst is available through Adecco Australia Group. The successful candidate will weld, fabricate and assemble metal structures, read engineering drawings, and perform repairs in a safety‑conscious manufacturing environment.

You will operate MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW processes on various materials, contribute to continuous improvement, and work as part of a collaborative Production team in a full‑time capacity.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Welder; 3+ years' welding/fabrication experience.
  • Strong MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW welding experience.
  • Proficient reading of technical drawings and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate metal components, structures and assemblies.
  • Perform general fabrication and production tasks.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Repair, modify and replace fabricated components as needed.
  • Maintain safety, quality and productivity on the shop floor.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join a manufacturing team in Bathurst on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with strong welding and fabrication experience to contribute to the production of quality metal components, structures and assemblies within a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for welding, fabrication, assembly, repairs and general production work while working from technical drawings and engineering specifications.

The successful candidate will join the Production team and work collaboratively across the wider business.

Responsibilities

As a Boilermaker / Welder , your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing welding and fabrication of metal components, structures and assemblies.
  • Undertaking general fabrication and production work.
  • Performing MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW welding across a range of materials.
  • Fabricating and assembling structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework and vessels.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Completing marking, measuring and geometric development of fabrications and shapes.
  • Performing mechanical cutting, manual heating and thermal cutting.
  • Safely operating hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery.
  • Completing repairs, modifications and replacement of fabricated components.
  • Performing engineering measurements and basic computations.
  • Applying appropriate fabrication, forming and shaping techniques.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
  • Following welding, production and quality procedures.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Assisting with on-the-job training where required.
  • Working collaboratively with Production and other departments.
  • Completing manual handling tasks in accordance with safe work practices.
  • Maintaining environmentally sustainable work practices.
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties as directed by the Production Manager.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant NSW SafeWork requirements.

  • Contribute to a positive safety culture across the Production team.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company information and operations.
Your Profile
  • Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Welder or Fitter, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar welding/fabrication role.
  • Strong experience with MIG, TIG and Stick/MMAW welding.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven welding and fabrication capabilities.
  • Strong commitment to WHS, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within heavy engineering or manufacturing.
  • Advanced welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience with structural fabrication and repairs.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Experience working to documented welding procedures and quality standards.
