Job summary

Downer's Rail & Transit Systems in Australia is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our Maryborough site, guiding welding activities to support passenger rolling stock delivery. You will review design weld requirements, supervise operations, and conduct audits to ensure compliance with the Weld Management System, while driving performance KPIs to meet production targets.

The role requires strong leadership, a manufacturing background in rail or similar heavy industry, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in rail bogie and carbody manufacture and welding is an advantage.
• Experience in a Team Leadership/Supervision role.
• Experience with Robotic Resistance and Mig Welding systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise welding activities as required.
• Review weld specific technical requirements of rolling stock design to provide guidance on joint design, welding process, accessibility and sequencing.
• Conduct audits on the Welding activities to ensure facility complies with the Weld Management System requirements.
• Achieve and maintain welding performance KPI's to support Production delivery.
