Job summary

Pacific Rail Engineering – Chipping Norton NSW is seeking skilled tradespeople to undertake maintenance overhauls and modifications to air brake systems and wagon bogies/structures on railway rollingstock.

Key responsibilities include undertaking repairs to required standards, completing QC reports, daily timesheets, and adhering to WHS policies while maintaining a neat appearance. The role requires a trade qualification or 5+ years of experience and reading technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent rollingstock maintenance experience.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.
• WHS knowledge and safe work practices essential.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• RIW or Pegasus card preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repairs to the standards as required.
• Complete reports to meet Quality Control requirements.
• Complete daily timesheets for work completed.
• Undertake processes safely, complying with WHS policies.
• Maintain a clean and tidy appearance at all times.
• Review SWMS and suggest improvements.

Undertake and complete repairs to the standards as required

Complete documented reports to meet Quality Control requirements

Complete daily timesheets for work completed

Undertake processes in a safe & timely manner, complying with company WHS policies

Maintain a clean and tidy appearance at all times subject to working environment

Review SWMS used and where appropriate recommend changes that improve the processes

Assist with other duties as required from time to time

About you

Hold a Trade Qualification in Fitting/Fabricating/Welding or Qualified Rollingstock Maintainer

A Construction Induction Card or White Card

Have a good understanding of WH&S in the workplace

Trade Qualified or at least 5 years' experience

Experience with maintenance & testing of Railway Rollingstock Brake Systems or Pneumatic Equipment

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Drivers licence

Be able to read & interpret technical drawings

RIW Card and Pegasus Card qualifications preferred
